John Lennon, Gone 30 years today

I love the Beatles.

I have since I was little and saw "Yellow Submarine" for the first time (why it was on and why I was watching it, I have no idea, but it was colorful and had music, so I loved it!)

When I got a little older and learned a little more about music,
I started to appreciate the phenomenon that was the Beatles.

I also learned that John Lennon was killed.

This was always heartbreaking to me, because John was (and is) my favorite Beatle.

For me, it was hard to believe someone would walk up and kill a person in cold blood like that, especially a person who did nothing but preach peace and tolerance.

Not only was he adorable with his shaggy hair and round glasses, but his voice was amazing,
and it was always very soothing listening to him.

The Beatles, and John in particular, have always been very inspiring, and I found that whenever I expressed my feeling about them and their music, I was always heartily encouraged (to the point where my English teacher my senior year of high school devoted an entire week of our British Literature section to their music)

I have purses, T-shirts, posters, action figures... all kinds of Beatle related things.

I decided, since today is the anniversary of his passing to post a couple of my favorite pictures and songs from John and the Beatles.

as much as i cant stand Yoko Ono, I thought this was really beautiful

I really love these little glimpses into his life

Ok, last one, i promise.

"If someone thinks that love and peace is a cliche that must have been left behind in the Sixties, that's his problem. Love and peace are eternal."
